Hi SDN crew,
I'll keep it short:
- Applying to anesthesia programs. Competitive applicant overall w/ 254 step 1, research, good work/volunteer experiences, etc.
- I have 3 LORs already done (1 medicine, 2 anesthesia). I believe these 3 will all be good and speak to my work ethic, dedication to anesthesia, etc.
- I did two years of research and my PI (who is a practicing MD) offered to write me a "strong letter". I never worked with him clinically, but he would be able to offer a different perspective than my clinical LORs would.
Would you ever replace a clinical LOR w/ a non-clinical LOR? Most of the programs I am applying to require 3 letters, so I would likely be dropping one of the anesthesia letters for this non-clinical one.
Cheers
