Hey everyone, goodluck to all on this application cycle.

Just a couple of quick questions:
Under the LOR section there is a new box that says 'committee', do you check this if a LOR is from a pre-advisory committee, or what? I am finishing my Masters and have a 'defense committee' for this degree but I don't think this is what the box means.

How does checking or not checking this box benefit your application?

Thanks.

If you are using a health-professions committee instead of letters of recommendation from teachers only, then check this box.

by committee, they mean a pre-health recommendation committee which drafts a LOR for you (for me personally, I had to submit 3 LOR to the committee, an application, $200 as well as a personal interview. the committee then wrote an overall LOR and submitted the LOR along with my 3 LOR's from professors to dental schools). If your LOR is not written by such a committee, don't check the box.

Thanks for the response everyone. I guess I won't be checking the box but is there any benfit for having a committee draft a letter?

Thanks again.
