Hi everyone, I am in the process of asking people for LORs for the upcoming cycle. I thought that I just had to ask the professors/the dentist that I've been working with to write me a Letter of recommendation, and have them fill out the form that the Letter forwarding service at the Career development office at school gave me, then have the school send the letters of Recommendation to AADSAS when I apply sometime in Late may/june. But I've been reading about LORs on the forum, as well as the AADSAS instructions and I found out that I need a LOR matching form from AADSAS. How do I print those out? Do i need to wait for the application cycle to begin? If so, do I just send the professors the forms for the letter forwarding service, and my resume etc, with a note telling them that I will send them another form later? I also read about people having problems submitting LORs from their schools' letter forwarding service to AADSAS...

Can anyone enlighten me about this process? Thanks a lot in advance.

Please take the time to read the AADSAS instructions. The answer is contained in there. Furthermore, when you apply, you will need to acknowledge that you have thoroughly read the AADSAS instructions.

You won't give your LOR writers an AADSAS matching form if you're using your school's letter service. In fact, if your school sends the letter file directly to dental schools for you, you won't ever need the AADSAS matching form. The only problem you may have is with the dental schools that require LORs be sent from AADSAS. Check all the websites of schools you'll be applying to and see if they state AADSAS only for LORs. If they do, you have 2 options:
1. Contact the dental school via email and see if their policy is strict. Tell them your school has your letters and sends them directly. All the dental schools I contacted said it's fine.
2. Have your school send your file to AADSAS (for that you will need just 1 AADSAS matching form and it will go to your school). Some have a policy against this though, so talk to them now and find out.
