I have a second interview this week for a research position at a hospital in my city. Coincidentally, a doctor that I have been shadowing did his residency at that hospital and actually knows one of the PI's in the lab. He offered to write me a LOR for the position. I have not met the PI yet and my interview is with the lab manager, not him. Thus, my question is who should the letter be addressed to, who should it be sent to, and how should it be sent to them (mail/email)?

Thanks guys

Ask him to address it to the lab manager since he or she will be reading it, but have him emphasize his relationship with the PI. I would just have him print out the letter, stick it in an envelope with him name&date signed on the seal. Then hand it to them during your interview.

thats a good idea, I've never gotten a LOR for a job before so I just wasn't sure how to go about it. Thanks for the input.

Any other opinions/experiences out there? I have to email him very soon. Thanks
