So, I already have 2 LOR's from science profs, and 1 LOR from a humanities prof.

I have been shadowing a Dr. lately, and he is a DO. I had been contemplating applying to DO programs this cycle, and a DO letter is necessary for many of them. I also wanted to get more first-hand experience with osteopathy.

Well, after doing alot of research (and soul-searching), I believe I will be sticking to MD-only. I attended a strong research school, and would like to continue my education in a similar environment. I believe most DO schools would not be able to offer what I am looking for. I don't want to start any sort of a flame war...... OK?

Will MD schools still view a good LOR from a DO favorably? Should I still include it?

A doctor is a doctor. A letter from either MD or DO would be considered as the same by allo adcomms. MD schools don't routinely ask for a physician letter though.

That is what I figured.

Thanks for your input....

That is what I figured. The DO I shadow practices allopathic medicine anyways, so I didn't think there would be any significance.

Thanks for your input....
What does that even mean?

sorry folks for the prior nonsensical post.

thanks again for all of your input.
