LOR from a math proffessor

some schools count it as science, others don't. best bet is to make sure you have 2 from a bio, chem, or physics teacher.

what if both your science profs are in organic chemistry? would that work? it's because the two profs that know me best are both o-chemers, and i don't have anybody else in the sciences to write me recs. i've insulted all my other professors so i don't think they will be writing me a good recommendation.

care to elaborate on the "I've insulted all my other professors" ???

😎

I got both of my science letters from math professors and did not have a problem with any school. I also had a committee letter, though, so maybe it didn't matter as much.

If I were you, I would check with the schools you're interested in to make sure they count math as science (it is included in the BCPM gpa calculation, so it should.) "Best bet" is to get letters from professors who know your work and know your character. Just as a warning though: many math professors can't write!

Kudos to you if you can find a math professor who's not introverted and too socially reclusive to write you a good LOR.

I have a LoR from a math professor too. I've been using it to satisfy non-science requirements and every school I've checked with says that's ok with them.

Some schools considered my math LOR a science rec, others categorized it as non-science. You might want to have some other letters in there that could suffice for the 2 science, 1 non-science letter requirement.

Could you maybe list the schools that accepted your math LOR as non-science please?

Same question..can you list the schools that would & wouldn't categorize your letter as non-science? And if anyone else knows of any? Thanks in advance!
