I worked with a cosmetic surgeon who is also a clinical associate professor at Keck SOM at USC. He wrote me a recommendation, and he told me that in the letterhead he did denote that he's a professor at the school. Do adcoms view this as something that holds substantial weight? Obviously this is a bit of a subjective question... but say adcoms see this. Would you guys think they put a little more weight on this letter/factor it into the admissions process? Keck is my dream school, but I'm well below the mean MCAT so I could use all the help I could get.

Well below the mean as in....

It might carry some weight, but if your numbers are below average and your ECs are run of the mill.... not much the letter can do for yah.

They migh put a bit more weight, but it's not going to make a huge difference. A friend of mine had an LOR from an Adcom at a top 10 school with very solid stats and he didn't even get interviewed at that school.
