Hi guys! I just had a quick question and couldn't find an answer to it in the search.

I came into undergrad as a pre-vet student, worked with a vet from about 4 months after freshman year. He and I have been extremely close ever since then. Frequently staying in touch, at this point he's essentially someone I would consider a mentor. When I worked for him, I was going through an incredibly difficult time in my life where I was horribly depressed and he has seen me transform into who I am today. I was thinking it would be fantastic to get a letter from someone who has seen me change in such a positive way, not to mention I think it would be an outstanding letter since he knows me so well. I didn't know, though, if it would be disregarded since he is a veterinarian and not an doctor? Or does this not matter?

Could def use it as a reference, but would not take the place of 2 sciences profs + supervisor (or similar in volunteer role).

Yes, of course! 🙂 I was just thinking IN ADDITION to those letters. Thank you!!
