Have any of you guys got a letter from a dental assistant? The college I go to often has many of their pre-dental students volunteer at this clinic to assist the dentist and help out the clinic, and after we work for a certain number of hours, the dental assistant is writes us a LOR. I'm gonna ask the dental schools tomorrow if a letter from her would be adequate to fulfill the requirement of a dental practioner letter. But give your early opinions on what you guys think their response will be, or if any of you have done what I'm trying to do, please post and say so.

Stick around the clinic longer and get to know the custodial staff. Who knows, their letter might be as useful as the one from the da.

Thank you doctor toothache, but although I do plan on working there for another year (even though I already have over 100 hours of volunteering there), I'm applying this cycle, so a letter from them is unlikely. But I am good friends with the supervisor and many of the other staff members, but sadly how the system works there is that usually it's the dental assistant that writes the letters. The dentists or other staff usually don't, but we'll see what happens 🙄.

I'll tell you right now that they will flat out say no. They'll take it, but it won't fulfill the dentist requirement. Why don't you go straight up to one of the dentists and ask for a letter, explaining to them it has to be from a DDS/DMD?
