LOR from omfs?

Is it bad to have a LOR from a specialty dentist rather than a gen den? The doctor I'm thinking of was selected as the state's dentist of the year, is double degreed, and has many other notable accolades. Also I've been working under him for several years and I know he'd give me the best LOR, is this frowned upon?

Pretty sure it's fine as long as there's DDS/DMD behind the name. Some schools also require a letter of rec from a dentist, so definitely ask!

Should be more than fine. My LOR was from a periodontist.
