Has anyone every gotten a LOR from a physical therapist, physicians assistant, etc.???

I've gotten to know a PT very well through volunteering and I think he could write me a very solid LOR. He has seen me interact with rehab patients and knows me better than any doc or professor, but it just doesn't seem like it would be a good idea.

What do you guys think?

It wouldn't replace a requirement for a physician LOR, but would work for the "other" category.

It's true that it won't fill the physician letter requirement of several D.O. and I think some M.D. schools, but if this person would be willing to write a letter, I would not hesitate. I got a letter of recommendation from a nurse supervisor I worked under as a volunteer. It may be a little premature to say, but I've gotten an interview at a school that selects heavily for in-state applicants (U of Nebraska) as a non-resident with a GPA below their median but an MCAT above their median. The rest of my application was solid, too, so it may or may not have been that letter, but a letter like yours could only help, I think.
