I am a MSIV, i wanted to know if it is OKAY if 2 out of 3 or 4 LORs come from Dr not associated to my school or clerkships. I worked with them during med school and with one of them since college, and they have told me that they would like to write a LOR for me. They even told me that they promise me that this will be the best LOR i can ever receive. One is IM and the other is an ortho. I have them in my CV as extracurricular and volunteer work. I know that the letters from the school faculty will be strong, but doubt that will be like the others since i just know these other dr from the clerkship and thats it (received excellent evaluations from them).
