LOR from Research Rotation

I am doing a research rotation with a Urologist who I am thinking about having write a LOR for me at the end of the rotation. Because I have only done research and only minimal clinical work with this physician, the letter would be focused on the research side of things. Is this a letter worth getting? Does it hold weight compared to a letter from a clinician?
