I think most dental schools request LORs from 2 science prof, 1 non science prof, and 1 dentist. Would it be okay to get a letter of rec from the advisor of a student org i have been a part of (in addition to the 4)?

She knows me quite well, and on a more personal level than my college profs. Would 5 LORs be overkill? and is this necessary?

Hard to say what defines 'overkill' (I would say if all your letters are from people who you know in the same capacity and could potential say the same generic things about you and you still have 4 or 5 letters...thats overkill, and boring) but if this person can give good insight into your character and potential from a more personal relationship with you, go for it. I don't think it is necessary, but the committee is deciding if they want to interview you, the more information they know about you the better in my opinion.
