Hey folks. SO, here's my deal. Last year, I took a philosophy class, did really well in it (my TA passed out my essay to the whole class to read) and I decided it would be good to get a LOR. My TA was the one who read all of our essays, assigned our grades, etc. I asked my pre-med advisor at the time if it would be alright to get a letter from him, and she said yes, since he is a Ph.D. candidate. However, as I read through different apps. I realize that maybe this is not a good thing at all as many request, very specifically, senior professors. Dohhh! I don't know why I even talk to my advisors sometimes. 😡 What do I do? I do have another teacher I could ask for a letter from now, but my letters are already sent in to all of the schools. Any advise people? Thanks! Good luck to you guys.

It really sucks, but if the schools you're applying to require a letter from a senior faculty, then you need to submit a senior letter. If you don't, I'd think that med school adcoms will take it that you can't follow instructions. If you have a letter from a TA, at least have the professor who teaches the class co-sign it. I had a similliar situation before where I knew my TA better than the prof, so when I asked the prof, he said he'd ask the TA to write it, and he'd co-sign it. I didn't like the idea, and luckly, I had other professors to go to. Good luck!
