Should I use interfolio to submit my letter or is submitting through AADSAS fine? Which do you recommend and why?

I used AADSAS. I've had no problems with it and all of my professors had no issues with submitting it. I'm not really sure how Interfolio works, maybe someone else can give input on that.

If you use interfolio, you can save your letters. Once the cycle ends, if you submitted it solely through AADSAS, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to retrieve the letters. It definitely comes in handy if you might have to reapply or apply for other scholarships.

Does anyone have interfolio promo code. The last year one doesn't work anymore. trying to save few bucks lol

How does interfolio work? I applied last cycle and lost all my LORs because they didn't transfer over

They store letters for you without breaching the confidentiality agreement (you wont be able to see your letter). They act as the middle man in handling your letters. I believe letter writers also have access to the letters they write you if they need to update or tweak somethings. For example, I am asking my professor to tailor a letter he wrote for my dental school apps more for the hpsp.

same please let me know if you find it!
I think aadsas is free and you can request recommendation directly from aadsas. I heard it same as interfolio but directly in aadsas so you dont have to waste money after interfolio. if someone plan to apply next year its better to go with interfolio as u can just reuse it

oh okay! do you know of any codes? for interfolio!

Quick question- if you choose to use submit letters through aadsas, then can you choose which letters are to be sent to certain dental schools? And do your evaluators who are writing your letter have to send it to each individual school or is it through that one portal on aadsas? Thanks so much in advance!

1st question- No you can't choose which letters go to which school. On the portal, you can only upload a maximum of 4 letters, and all the schools you apply to will receive those 4 letters.
2nd question- Your writers upload their letter to the AADSAS portal, and the portal sends it to each school.
Interfolio is good for if you think you need to reapply and want you save your letters, or if you want to apply to scholarships and want to save your letters, OR if you have more than 4 letters and would like to send additional, individual letters to schools besides the 4 they get from the portal.

Thanks so much for the clarification! That helps a lot 🙂

In a video on YouTube this guy talks about how he used interfolio to save his lors because he asked his professors for the letters right after he took the class and not right before he was ready to apply. So when he was actually ready to apply he already had the letters and he wasn’t delayed in anyway

Sorry, I'm really confused here...
So if I plan on using a committee letter with 3individual letters, I should use interfolio as that allows me to send the schools the 3 individual letters as one individual in the AADSAS system?

Not sure what the best way to upload my LORs to AADSAS would be.

A committee letter would be sent as a committee letter, so it would take up three spots on AADSAS, leaving one spot for an individual letter (from a dentist). You can't send a committee letter as an individual letter. I personally didn't use Interfolio so I don't know how it works, but it's mostly for storing confidential letters incase you need to use them in the future (like if you have to reapply, you don't have to ask your letter writers again, or if you need to use one of the letters for a scholarship or something).
You should send requests from AADSAS to your school for them to upload your committee letter, as this would bypass Interfolio if you don't think you need to keep the letters for the future.

When schools ask for "committee and 1 science prof or 2science + dentist" they expect that ill send the rest individually then?

Schools won't ask for a committee AND science prof...the science prof are included in the committee letter.
Schools ask for either a committee letter + 1 dentist or individual prof letters + 1 dentist.

Thanks for clarification!
