LOR maximum?

I'm confused about the 4 LOR max statment in AADSAS. 😕
what exactly does that mean..? Does it mean the maximum for each school applied? or maximum in total?

I thought that we can submit more LOR's to AADSAS and pick and choose which letters to use to specific schools (since each dental school has their own LOR requirements). @.@

I'm pretty sure this means that you can only submit 4 letters to AADSAS or 1 committee letter + 1 additional letter. Sometimes schools will let u submit a letter directly to them, but not all schools. Best to check with the schools you will be applying to.

You can only send four letters MAX to aadsas. I had my extras sent directly to the schools that said this was acceptable. I think i had 8 total sent to MUSC including my 4 from AADSAS

The dean of admissions from Case came to my school and one of the things he told us is that usually the applicants with lots of LORs are the weakest applicants and they try to make up for that with all the letters. I don't know if that's true or not, but maybe its something to think about since at least one school has this perception (others might too).

I'd stick to four, I think the more things they have to read the worse they may feel about the file. They do always say to keep your secondary essay questions as short as possible, so I'd assume it would be the same for letters. Also, other schools do require you to send them letters, Loma Linda requires a Spiritual adviser letter.

I am going with 4 only because the third letter is different for different schools. Most schools want 2 science for the first 2 letters, but the third letter varies (non-science, employer, advisor, dentist, etc). So I will get 2 science (one is advisor), a dentist, and than an employer. Some schools will just get one they didnt ask for; I can't help that because the schools I called want the letters to be through AADSAS.
