I have a problem with my LOR. I was able to get 2 one from physiology prof. and one from a dentist. I also asked my biochemistry prof. to write me one, she agreed, but wrote me: ".I can write a letter for dental school. My knowledge of you personally is very limited though. Typically a letter from someone you has worked closely with you is better as they can comment on personality traits."
I offered to volunteer for her, do anything so she could get to know me better, but she refused. Then I offered her to provide with my personal statement, resume, anything that could help her to write me a letter. So she wrote: .
."Thank you for the offer of additional information. I do need to base my letter on my personal knowledge though. I can read an additional documentation but if I make reference to any of the information I need to mention that I read it and did not witness it firsthand.."
Now I am scared what kind of a letter she wrote for me....What do you guys think???
3 years ago my microbiology prof. wrote me a letter, I haven't been in touch with her all this time. Do you think I should email her? I know she wrote me a very good letter... I am kind of scared but looks like I don't have a lot of options....:scared:
Thank you!!!!

Looks like your biochem professor will write you a pretty crap letter even if you provide all that documentation.
Go contact your microbio professor and get that letter from her. Yeah it will look slightly awkward when you ask about it since it's been 3 years but the letter is all that matters. If you can see your microbio professor in person that would be much better than emailing about it.

Write the Micro professor and give her all those additional materials you offered the other lady, show her how you have grown and matured since you have had her class and describe your experiences since her class. Try to meet up with her.

You already have 2 from two science professors and 1 from a dentist. Not sure why you are trying to force another science letter that is clearly not going to be strong (either Biochem or your microbio. She'll have to mention that she hasn't seen you in 3 years/you haven't taken a class with her since '09) Why not just ask a non-science professor, or just submit 3 letters?

^ yeah I agree with what Cedar says. It sounds like she's going to write you a ****ty letter.

samesies...don't let get write your letter. Find someone else enthusiastic about recommending you

I don't have 2 science letters, I have only one and second one I was expecting from my biochem professor, but after her emails I thought of asking my micro prof. from 3 years ago to write me a letter again (she did 3 years ago) instead of biochem prof.

She made it perfectly clear 3 different ways. What does it take to accept a no for an answer?

Ok, so I contacted my microbio prof. and she is no longer teaching at the university I went before so she said that she can not provide LOR anymore. Now I am in big trouble .... 🙁
