I plan on getting a committee letter from my university. To get the committee letter, I had to have 5 other letters of recommendation from various people (professors, etc). However, none of them were supposed to be from a dentist.

So my question is, should I ask one of the dentists I shadowed to write me a letter and submit it to AADSAS as well? Do schools need this in addition to a committee letter? My advisor never mentioned it.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I am doing a committee letter letter as well and we require 5 sciences, a dentist, and a clinical(optional) letter. I think schools will look down on an applicant when an established dentist can't vouch for em.

It's not that a dentist can't vouch for me, it's that I was never told I would need a letter haha. But I should probably ask...

You definitely should! In the letter section of aadsas there's room for another letter after the committee one. I used that spot for my dentist letter. Good luck!

Thanks! Now I'm wondering though....I checked the websites of the schools I'm applying to and none of them say they require a letter from a dentist, especially if there's one from a committee...

Hmm. Maybe look at adea too, because I'm pretty sure it mentions it somewhere anyway.
