I have had all my letters for months on Interfolio and today requested interfolio to send them in, but I keep seeing things about the matching forms on here and don't understand what that is and what I need to do. I looked at previous threads, but they didn't explain clearly. Any help please?

I just figured this out last night, it is a bit confusing but I hope this helps.

What you need to do is first on the AADSAS application under the "Evaluators" section; enter each of the names of your recommenders along with all the other information and make sure to mark the "paper" option. When you complete each recommenders information, it will then give you a form for each recommender that you will have to save to your computer and upload to Interfolio. So, let's say if you have 4 letters of recommendation, you will save and upload 4 additional matching forms (from the AADSAS application after filling out the info) to Interfolio. So, total you would have 8 forms sent to AADSAS. Does this help?

This also helped me: http://help.interfolio.com/entries/24065501-ADEA-AADSAS-Applicant-FAQ

So if I already sent out 4 from interfolio and paid the $6 I have to do another delivery and pay another $6?

I believe so 🙁 You might call them and ask though. I also thought I saw a "cancel order" button on there but I'm not for sure.

You can't just upload it as it is though, correct? Wouldn't you need to print them, sign them, then scan them back onto your PC?

No, it automatically generates what they need on the form from the AADSAS application.

Wouldn't it need your signature though?

I don't think so, I didn't. I read online somewhere that they don't need your signature on it.

I looked at my account and it said summited! So I am going to get the 3 remaining addresses tomorrow (not sure why you'd need the writers address, surprised me!) and just make a new order...hopefully the AADSAS can just put them both together. I should call tomorrow and ask and let everyone know what they say.

For the addresses I just used the address of the building where their department is, I was slightly confused about that.

Hmm yeah, I emailed my two professors and I knew my bosses address. So maybe for the 4th one I will use the office building instead of calling and asking. But, I was confused too!

For the addresses would you need to use their personal address or just the address of the school, business, or dental office?

I accidentally checked the "electric" option instead of the "paper" option! I had no idea about these matching forms until now... and I already had Interfolio send the letters to my application. Any ideas on what I should do?

I believe the address of the school, business, or office is perfectly fine. I read that on numerous threads.

And what format did you upload the matching forms, mine is cgi.pdf? is that fine?

Look at this link: http://help.interfolio.com/entries/24065501-ADEA-AADSAS-Applicant-FAQ
It says:
  1. Log in to your AADSAS application and indicate that you will send your documents by paper delivery. This is important because of the way AADSAS processes documents sent from Interfolio's electronic delivery process.
That's the only way I knew to do paper delivery or I probably would have picked electronic, too. I would call Interfolio and ask about that!

so do we need to print the paper out and sign it and scan it back to the computer? or no?

Thanks for your reply! I wish I would have checked that earlier. I'll definitely be calling Interfolio tomorrow!

Does anyone now if a file ending in cgi.pdf is the same as pdf?

Also, his post says you do need to print it out to fill out the information. So we can't just upload it? We still have to print it, fill it out, and scan it?

I didn't print it because AADSAS automatically fills in the information so I didn't see the point of printing it.

Mine has the person's name but not the address. Does yours have the address too?

well, the link says "4. You print off the LOE matching forms and fill one out yourself for each of your recommenders. They don't require a signature, so this is perfectly acceptable .5. You scan in the LOE matching forms on your computer and upload them to Interfolio."

So, i guess thats what we do lol

I believe since the address is in your application already it's not required there. Mine didn't have the address but I don't really see why that's important...I could be wrong!

Just to inform everyone, I called and asked and they said not to worry about making a new delivery! So in case anyone made the same mistake as me, there you go 🙂
