I have 5 letters: 1 MD, 1 DO, 1 genetics, 1 epi, 1 human bio capstone (science writing class)

I was hoping to cover all my bases with these letters. By that I mean, two doctors (MD and DO), and I know that the genetics prof will count as a science letter but can the epi count as a secondary science letter and the human bio capstone count as the non-science letter?

Thank you.

You have to see what the prefix of your classes are. Is it part of the Biology Department, or part of the Humanities/Writing/English Department? There's your answer.

If your school counts it as a writing requirement, then have your health professions office clarify that, or have the registrar attach a letter saying that the class was indeed a non-science course.

The best way to tackle this is to have your school's health professions office write you a committee letter. That pretty much guarantees it will fulfill the LoR requirement. Since you go to a massive university like MSU, I'm sure they have a health professions office you can contact.

Yes
can the epi count as a secondary science letter

Isn't Biology part of the Sciences??????

and the human bio capstone count as the non-science letter?
Is a non-science LoR and requirement as most schools? Is it at yours? Can EPI count as non-science?

Epi would count as a Science to me, personally.

I really don't what to say what my school requires or doesn't. But let's just say that I've seen tons of non-Sci LORs for my interviewees.

Thank you for feedback. On a diff note, should I send all 5 out or cap it at 4 (2 docs, 2 science)?

I know for sure that NSU and PCOM requires a non science LoR.

What to do if you have no non-science professor LoR? 🙁

All five will be OK. I trust that they're glowing?
Haven't read them. I used confidentiality measures via Interfolio. I trust that my work and dedication to medicine and the community will be spotlighted in each letter.
