I am still a while away from applying but I had a question about the LOR's. Do med schools allow LOR's from former employers and would it be beneficial to get a LOR from my old LT. Colonel who I have known for a long time?

They do accept these LORs. It would be beneficial to have this sort of letter as med schools really like people who have served in the military.

thank you I was thinking it might be a good idea, just wasn't sure if med schools accept these kinds of LOR's

Although not everyone will know what an O-5 is, everyone should be aware that a Lt. Colonel is a rank that should command respect and would be a good judge of character. If they don't, have them watch "Scent of a Woman".

You'd think, right? I had a glowing LOR from a RDML and USUHS rejected me flat out. (Given I'm sure there were other factors)
