if i get a letter from my PI, does that count as a bio letter? im taking research for units, so it is included in my gpa.
 
I think it would be better to get someone that you actually took a course with, just to be on the safe side. The letter from the PI is definitely worth getting, though, as an "additional" letter!
 
yes it counts. i've done the same with no problems.

this would be best, as some schools do ask for *classroom* instructors, or classroom setting as other schools have put it. Use the PI as an EC letter only.

do u know which schools do this? im mainly interested in the uc's and any other cali school? do they require 2 classroom instructors letters? 😕

another question: is a letter from a TA in a lab i took good as a bio letter?
