So I got an LOR from my organic professor, for organic 1, whos class I am in now and almost finished with for Organic 2. I got an A in 1 and he said he wrote me a really good reccomendation based more upon who I am than simply just a grade. I plan on an A for 2 as well. I tried talking to him about maybe if it be worth updating it or just saying he taught me for organic 2, but he more less said he wrote it on the basis of who I am and then rambled on about other stuff...Hes a good professor, and a strong one being that he teaches organic, so what should I do? He has already sent it to the letter service at our school and was really good aboutit, I also think its a good recc and not sure if I wanna mess with it. Let me know what u think I should do...thanks.

It sounds like he wrote you an excellent recommendation. You have to rememeber that the ADCOMS are looking for that "who you are" aspect more than how you performed in the class. They know your grade in the class so they are not interested in hearing about it all again, but more interested in you as a person. Afterall, the recommendation in itself is recommending "you".

Also, in a way the fact that he only wrote the rec for Orgo 1 and not Orgo 2 could be viewed as a benefit. Since he wrrte about you as a person it can show the d-schools how much you can open up and how great you can perform in just one semster as opposed to getting to know you for two. He learned everything he needed to know about you in just one semester.

If I were you I wouldn't mess with it simply because there is no need to and secondly b/c your professor already indicated to you that it's fine. You don't want to get him irritated.
