I am getting letters from dental schools saying that they want my lors to be send to them through adssas but my premed advisor wants to mail them directly. Can my lors be mailed directly to the schools, even know in the e-mail it
says to do it through adssas.

I had the same experience. Usually your pre-dental advisor knows what is acceptable and what is not. I had my advisor send the lors directly to the schools, and not to AADSAS, and did just fine.

Good luck...

I think your advisor is a *****.

I am not saying that schools won't accept them directly, but when they state explicitly SEND LORs THROUGH AADSAS, I don't think there is any real confusion there. I think there is something to be said about following directions.

If it were me I would contact each school directly, explain your situation and go from there.

Just so you know, AADSAS doesn't send out LORs at the same time with your other application stuff. They will send your LORs in a separate package to your designations.
I have had schools send me the letter indicating items I am missing, and ususally LORs were one of them. I didn't wait for AADSAS to take their time to send out my stuff, I went ahead and had my advisor and school's credential service send out my LORs to all my schools. Your schools will just stick the letters in your file, so it doesn't really matter if they get them through AADSAS or your school.

Another thing you might want to do is to call schools to make sure your application is complete. I was in a situation where the dental school admissions office received my LORs on Sept 7, but they sent me a letter dated Sept 14 saying that they were missing. They probably got lost at the bottom of the pile and didn't get put into my file.

Some schools allow it.

Please send your three letters of recommendation directly to AADSAS. If your school has a policy that restricts them from sending letters of recommendation to AADSAS, we will accept letters of evaluation sent directly to Boston University. Please DO NOT send materials to both AADSAS and Boston University, as it significantly slows down the review process.

Thanks everyone for your responces they were very helpfull.
