Hi everyone,

I tried to find an answer to this question in previous threads but couldn't find an answer. I was wondering, how do I select which LORs I want to send to each school I applied to. Since each school has specific requirements regarding the LORs, I am wondering if there is a way to pick and choose which letter I submit to a school. Does the AADSAS just send all of the ones I submitted to all of the schools I designated?

does your school have a place where they can send your LOR's to each school? our school provides this service and we designate which LOR's to send to which schools and even pay online. i'm trying to avoid the whole AADSAS thing. the less middleman's the better i suppose. look into it as your school might have one too. if not, then sorry, i cant help you ;(

Yes. I would suggest making a list of which schools require which letters and send whichever has the most "hits" to AADSAS. Then submit the ones not covered by this to the individual schools.

For instance, if you are applying to 5 schools and all of them require 2 science letters, have these sent to AADSAS. And if 3 of the 5 require a letter from a dentist and one from a non-science faculty, send these to AADSAS, too.

It's a little different if your school offers a committee letter because AADSAS counts this as 3 of the 4 they will copy and send out for you.

A couple of school's I'm interested in prefer the letters come from AADSAS. "Official letters of recommendation are only sent directly to the AADSAS application service." (Direct quote from the Columbia web site)

ok, that sounds good. I have one letter from a dentist and 3 from science professors, one of whom was also my employer for summer research i did. i submitted all four of these to the AADSAS. if a school requests only 3 letters, they won't discard a fourth will they?

I don't think so but anything is possible.

It seems like a lot of schools require a non-science professor to write a letter of recommendation so keep that in mind as one of your original four.
