How stringent is the definition of "science professor" as a source for a LOR? More specifically, does psychology count as a science? I could get several very strong letters from psychology professors (that was one of my majors), but I barely knew any science professors since I just took the basic pre-med required science class lectures. If psychology doesn't count as science, would an orgo lab TA be a good substitute? I also have a letter from a post-doc I worked under at a neuroscience lab, which I think could also be a credible source (and she said she could write me a good letter).I know it's best to get professors, but I am also a year out of school, so my chances with fostering more relationships is not really an option...

If anyone has opinions, I'm all ears!

Thanks =)

Psychology professors do not count as science professors. I checked because I was a psychology major also (apparently we're the only ones who think it's a science).

T.A. letters probably shouldn't be used to replace letters from professors. If you're going to get a letter from a T.A. I would get a letter from a science professor as well, the two could supplement each other.
