I asked my boss at work to write me a reccomendation and he wants me to give him an outline of what he should write. Is this alright to do? If so, any suggestions of what I should put in it? Thanks.

I would think an outline would be ok to give him. It's when you get into the business of writing the actual letter for yourself and having him sign it is where the ethical issues begin...at least I think so.
yes, I would think it's fine. He probably doesn't know what would make a good med school LOR.
points he should hit on are probably competency, respect, intelligence, selfishness, teamwork, attitude, demeanor, professionalism, dedication, determination, work ethic... I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
