LOR question

I'm trying to get into US dental school.
I have a good friend who is a dentist in Canada, and we've talked about dentistry a lot.
Is it OK to ask him to write a LOR for me?
Since he's canadian dentist, school may not consider him as a dental profession or.. I don't know.
It it OK?

I think so! I would totally take a LOR from the Canadian. I wouldn't accept a spot into a school that didn't approve of that...they would be sinnicle to not accept that. We are the USA, but let's not get too full of ourselves...we have different standards than other countries (That is all), but Canada is very well advanced, as are MANY other countries (Sweden, France, China, etc.)...
