Hello Predents
So I was wondering if a LOR can be too old. I might apply this app cycle so I am asking for my letters from 2 of my current professors. I was wondering if a letter would be considered to be too old if it is not within a certain time frame. I might also take a year of and was wondering if I would need to get new letters if I were to do this. Any thoughts?

You may need new letters depending upon what you do in the mean time, if you have drastically changed, or the letters have a date stamp (among other things).

While you could feasibly use old letters, confidentiality makes it difficult to decide whether the letters are acceptable or not. If you are in doubt, you probably would want to obtain new letters.
