Hi everyone,

Thank you for all your replies on my previous post.

I have another question concerning LORs.
I have a total of 7 LORs, 2 from my research job. 4 from my college professors and probably 1 from a MD i'm shadowing.

1. Am I allowed to submit them all to every school?
2. If yes, should I pick the best ones or should I just submit all letters. ( I think all of the letters are pretty good, with 2 best and the rest equal)

Thank you

Many schools have a maximum # of letters that they'll accept from an applicant - and this is almost always less than 7. You definitely don't want to send all 7 to all schools an inundate them with letters. You'll need to pick your letters according to the school's requirements and then, if you have multiple that meet a given requirement, pick the best ones. For example, most schools are going to ask for 2 from science professors whom you've taken for a class and 1 from a non-science professor. Most US Allopathic schools don't require for a letter from a physician whom you've shadowed, but it's usually good to send one.

I think half of my schools had no limits, but use your judgement. If you think all seven are equally strong and each one addresses something differently important about you, go ahead. Some schools put a limit on 5, some on 6 I believe.

Don't just send them in all because you think the more the better. It can actually backfire.
