Hey guys,
so i JUST finnished taking a bio course, my final grade was posted yesterday. I emailed my professor yesterday for that course asking if shed be willing to write me an LOR. i havnt gotten a response yet, i know she may have a tendency to skip over emails and not respond to ppl....she was like that during the semester too.
at what point do i re-contact her asking her again.......i dont want to seem pushy....its only been a day since she hasnt responded....but i need to know.....and when i do contact her , how do i do it? i tried to go to her office after my last final yesterday but her door was locked and i dont think she in so i couldnt ask her in person which is why i opted for email.
im worried!!

If it has only been a day, then just let it go and don't worry about it for time being. Work on your PS, go outside, whatever. You don't want to risk being pushy and not getting a letter at all. Do you know this professor well? Or is it just a class you got a good grade in? Don't email again. I wouldn't assume she just didn't see it yet. This is something you should be doing in person anyway. If your semester is winding down, she may be busy with other responsibilities...the ones that are actually in her job description. I understand wanting to get this taken care of ASAP with the cycle opening in less than 4 weeks, but you have to give it more than a day.

If you fear her leaving for the summer, be thinking of backup options while you wait a couple days.

EDIT: I saw some of your previous posts. If you've been taking upper-level science at a small institution, perhaps there is a backup writer in that pool of professors. I'm not trying to scare you about this professor not ever responding, but have a plan B in place if you can. Good luck this cycle! Looks like you've had an uphill battle and done quite well with it.

i cant not really worry about it. im running out of time!! 😱 i know the professor well, and vice versa, she has no problem with me/likes me and i recieved an A in both classes i took with the prof.
basically the only reason why i am freaking out is bc i know she wouldnt purposley ignore me, im beggining to think she isnt going to check her email anymore since classes are over. however i dont think she left for vacation or anything yet bc graduation still hasnt occured, and normally all faculty come to grad.
i wouldve done it in person but i was waiting to see my final grade, and i had no chance to ask her in person after that.:scared: im going to go to her office now and hope that shes there.....if not im screwed. sigh.
and thank you for the kind words! :/
