So my GSI wrote my letter and did not have it co-signed. I am heavily relying on this letter as my "non-science" letter. Will that be ok or will I have to get it co-signed by the professor? Thanks for your help!

I think it's okay. I emailed some schools because I have the same problem, and most said if they were on a official letterhead, they will accept it. Contact schools directly.

So, I have no idea what a GSI is (maybe graduate student instructor?), but my understanding was that the non-science letter is usually meant to be from a tenure track professor who taught you in a non-science course. However, schools vary greatly, so you should definitely contact schools that you are interested in and ask them directly, that is the only way to get the answers you are looking for.

i've read a lot of instances on this forum where people say that they didn't follow school's instructions to the exact letter and still got interviews.

i also have the same issue, and I don't think it will be a huge problem.

yea the GSI won't be able to get it co-signed by the professor. i have no choice but at least it's supposedly an excellent letter. o well i'll roll the dice. thanks everyone!
