Hi,
I just was looking for advice on LOR. I am just about done with my first fourth year rotation in trauma surgery. I am applying for EM this coming year. My question is that I am planning to ask my course director and an attending for a letter of rec. I am pretty sure they will write good ones. The thing is that I have interacted extensively with the two interns on my team, so they know me best. I know they have lots of good things to say about me. DO you think doing this is okay? One of them offered to write me a really good "letter of eval" The thing is that I can't use that as a LOR, but I was thinking of maybe including it with my CV and cover letter when I give it to the two attendings. That way they will have some more info to use when they write my letter and maybe help me get a better grade. I was going to ask my other intern to maybe write a letter as well, so I can include two letters along with my CV and cover letter to the two attendings? What do you think? I just don't want to the attendings to think less of me or think that I am trying to pull a fast one. Thx!

I don't think a letter from an intern is ever worth including. Most attendings will toss it straight in the garbage. Why not have the interns talk to your attending on your behalf, then have the attending write an even better letter?
