Hey guys,
I need an advice from people who have been in a similar situation. My professor kindly agreed to write me a LOR. It was a class that consisted of the lecture and the lab, so the professor knows me pretty well. I gave a deadline by 6/17, and in May her last email was " I will send your letter soon" Unfortunately, it is already 6/22, and still no letter 🙁 I emailed her 3 reminder over the course over the end of June and May, and have not heard anything back. Am i panicking too soon?
Should I call her? Keep emailing?
I have secondaries that are almost complete and I would like to submit them asap, but with no professor letter I am not sure if I should do it, since they wont look at it anyways.😵

I have been in this position a few times before. Usually I started with an email reminder and resent the Interfolio request. If that didn't work I stopped by/mailed their office with a thank you card with a small gift card inside ($5-10 to starbucks) that just thanked them for agreeing to write the LOR for me despite their busy schedule and provided them my contact info in case they had any questions.

In my experience when they get the thank you/gift card it gets them moving and they usually finish the letter ASAP .

Give it a try. Best of luck!

If possible, I would suggest stopping by the office since you've already e-mailed with reminders. If you feel that wouldn't be well received, or you can't do that, maybe give a call. I think gettinv a verbal response would give you more peace of mind and make her realize you need the letter...like days ago.

Even with the best professors, getting letters can be exhausting and really stressful.

I'm in a similar situation, still waiting on one LOR. I'm just wondering if other people can confirm that there's really no point in submitting a secondary if you're still waiting on a LOR right? I know people say to submit secondary essays ASAP, but I assume that only applies if everything else is ready to go?

I agree with ahawke100 that calling/seeing in person is a good plan. If that fails, DrPatriots thank you card/gift idea seems good.

Yes, you have to have your LOR's in before they will consider your secondary complete and ready for review. It's still a good idea to do them ASAP so when you get the letter your app will be complete right away.

Thanks guys! I will try calling today.
I just feel like it's not ethically correct, I am already neurotic enough for a pre-med lol. The late LOR is not helping.
Plus it's funny how professors make us do everything by the deadline... and yet don't do it themselves 🙄

So I called her, and she was very sorry that she missed the deadline, and will "try submit it this week". I sent her a nice handwritten thank you card, hoping would give her some motivation.
Worst part of the application process, simply because there is nothing you can do 😕

Please advice.
Is it okay to send a polite gentle reminder that due date is in 2 days? Even after calling and emailing this week?
Something between these lines
Dear Professor,
Just wanted to send a quick reminder that the deadline for the letter is 6/28/15. Can you, at your convenience, submit your letter of recommendation?

I apologize for rushing things. I greatly value the time you are taking out of your schedule for me and can not thank you enough for support.

Sincerely,
blah blah

Or should I wait until the deadline?

Walk in during her office hours like this.....

JK. Just walk into her office with a thank-you letter and a $50 gift card. Thats what I did with my delayed LOR. I got my letter within 2 weeks.

LOL!
This made me laugh, thanks!
I already mailed her a handwritten thank you card, should I bring another one if I go to and see her in case she does not submit it? Sometimes I wish the professors here were a lit more like in Eastern European countries, a good whiskey bottle and candies and you are GOLDEN lol jk
