Hello,

I am a psychology major and don't have many science courses and the ones I took were large lecture settings and I didn't get a A in those.
The one science course I got a A is a Microbiology course I took last semester.
But at the time I was focusing on Organic Chemistry 1 and wanted to get a rec from Orgo professor so went to her office hour three times a week but didn't get a A so she said she can't write one for me.. 🙁

Now, I have to email microbiology professor who I never went in to see in person but communicated couple times over the email. Also, I got a A in that class.
For the second science professor rec, I'm going to try my best to get close to the professor.
My dentist LOR and Research professor's LOR are both going to be a strong ones, fyi.

Feel free to correct any grammatical errors -- I'm an international student.
Here is the email I wrote.

Dear Dr. XXX,

My name is XXX and I took your Microbiology class last Fall 2017. Microbiology was a new topic for me, as I am a Psychology major, but was very happy to receive an A in your class. I truly enjoyed your class — attended all classes— and emailed you for questions.

I know you are busy as the semester just started and hope I am not taking your time, so I will get to the point. I will be applying to dental schools in June and am trying to collect a few letters of recommendation. What I learned from your class is actually really helping me out in studying for Dental Admissions Test(DAT) and will greatly help me in dental school also. Because I enjoyed your class and appreciate all your help throughout the semester, I thought it would be great if you would be able to write me a letter of recommendation for my dental school application.

I would be more than happy to meet with you at your convenience if that would be helpful. I can also provide you a resume or CV, and my personal statement if you would like.

I realize that writing a letter of recommendation would be a burden on your time and it means a lot to me that you would take the time to read and consider my request.

Sincerely,
