[Rant]
Why oh why oh way does PSU have to be so difficult.
Four LORs:
1. At least two letters from faculty in science disciplines.
2. At least one letter from faculty in a non-science discipline.
3. At least one remaining letter from college faculty, community leader, employer, or others in positions of responsibility that know the applicant well.
No additional letters are required, UNLESS:
1. You have multiple degrees. If this is true, you must submit one letter from each of the institutions that has granted you any of the following degrees:
Associate
Bachelor
Master
Doctorate
2. You have one year or more of graduate study or full time employment. If this is true, you are required to submit one additional letter of recommendation from a member of the graduate faculty or work supervisor.
That's SIX LORs! But wait! What if you haven't been in undergrad for over four years?? And your LOR writer died (true!)? Their answer: send a letter that says "that you were a student in good standing and that you earned a degree from that institution."
WTF? Isn't the fact that my degree and honors are recorded on my transcript enough!? Or did that fact escape them? Useless beauracratic BS, that's what this is. 🙄
Will they be happy with my four outstanding LORs from faculty who've known me the past four years? Will it be enough????? 😕
This is why sometimes being a non-trad applicant blows. 👎
Ridiculous!
