So..I wanted to apply to allopathic and osteopathic programs and I was informed during my committee interview that for some reason one of my letter writers wrote I was applying to allopathic schools. Not sure why this happened and I have no way of fixing it since I don't know who did it. My question is: am I screwed for applying to DO programs now or will they not care?

Same thing with me. Applied with only one physician letter from a MD that stated I was seeking admission to MD programs, and had plenty of DO interviews. They will probably think the letter writer did it under his/her own volition.

I can't imagine them nitpicking exactly what the writer said regarding MD/DO. What should matter is what they say about you.

I agree with bon22, I can't imagine people really nitpick like that...idk I could be wrong. Ask Goro lol.

Did you communicate with your recommender(s) that you were applying to both DO and MD programs and for them to keep it general? If not, I don't think it matters much. Worst case scenario the DO programs ask you why you're going for both. I guess you just really have to back yourself up as to why you REALLY want to go DO.
