I too, will be applying this summer.
I've gotten verbal and written confirmation from professors regarding writing me letters. I asked these people at the end of last year (Spring 2013). Their response was basically the same -- they asked me to email them closer to the date that I actually need them and they will do them for me.
My question is this: is it too early to remind them about these letters? I don't want to be a pest, but have heard repeatedly that not getting letters on time has really screwed up some applications.
Also, since I will be getting a committee letter from my undergrad school (Pitt), what do I do with these letters in the meantime?
