Big question for all of you. When I request my letter of recommendations to be sent out, would it be better to sent it to AADSAS to process and hold for me, or should I have my advisors send them to the schools directly? Also, for some schools like Tufts that require a letter from a dentist proving 30 hours of observing, etc., should I also send the letter to AADSAS to process or should I have that sent directly to the schools? What is everyones experience?

Send it to AADSAS, this way your advisor doesn't have to send it out to multiple places, plus your application will be all together.

At my school, they send the letters to AADSAS and to the schools. I guess they are just extra cautious!

I sent the letters to AADSAS for the eight schools I applied to, then had my professors send the letters directly to my top choice schools. Some schools (namely U of M) never got any letters from AADSAS, and some schools got two copies. No matter what, it is wise to follow up a few weeks after the letters are sent out. Some schools, like Detroit Mercy, will send you an update stating they received your letters, but other schools don't do this.
