so aadsas only allows 4 LOR on file, i have 5 on interfolio..

different schools have different requirements on LOR and to cover all of them, i would have to pick 4 out of 5 to send to aadsas and the other send to the school directly?

bio, chem, nonsci, bio (PI), dentist

which four should i pick to upload to aadsas?

thanks!

I did Bio + chem + sociology (non-sicnece) + dentist..... It allowed me to cover 18 schools (wellllll I think one of the 18 required 3 sciences ~ can't remember which, never heard from them lol)

The 5th letter, make sure the school is okay with accepting a letter outside of AADSAS.... many schools are switching to paperless application so anything outside of AADSAS = no no.

great! thanks!

so, i got to know my biology research professor much better than the other biology course. do you think that would could as a science letter of rec. if i got credit for it?

depends on the school.

Some schools are lenient and will accept any biology letter (even research), some will be very strict and want from a biology professor who taught you in class, some will specificly want from a pre-req science professor.... it all depends on the school.

I wish they made this process more standardized, or have AADSAS allow more than 4 LORs.

Pick the ones you need. Look at schools' websites and see which of them meet the requirements.

yeah its super annoying. i guess the safest bet is to send my bio (non research) to AADSAS and ask them if i can send an additional research letter extra and send that directly to the school.

many thanks, dentalWorks!!

If your writers have the letter saved, you can just have them upload them directly to AADSAS. It would be quicker. Also, AADSAS won't let you send additional. You would have to call the individual school that requests it. Again, make sure you have checked the guidelines of each school and pick the 4 letters which satisfy those guidelines.

yeah they all have different guidelines. out of the schools i'm applying to, only three require a non-science, but i feel like my non-science will give schools a more well-rounded image

this would be much easier if all the schools will accept my research as a biology/science requirement! 🙁

thanks, Maygvyer

Looks like your best bet would be to not use that non-science then. I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck!
