Any advice here, I am still waiting for my committee packet to go out to schools. I am no longer in the area where I graduated, so it is difficult to go visit my premed advisor to find out about my letter but I have been calling (no answer) and emailing daily with no reply. It is not a hard question, I just want to know if the letters are going to be sent any time soon. Anyone else having these problems?

i feel your pain on this. my packet was just sent out last week, but i've been done with secondaries for about a month, so i'm just waiting on the letters to get entered into the systems of all the schools so i can finally be "complete." you're already doing pretty much all you can it seems. the only other thing i can think of is having someone you know that is still at school go to the office on your behalf. if they're not answering e-mails or picking up the phone, i don't know what else you can do. 😕

I sympathize. I don't have committee at my old school (I've left the area as well), but one of my references is totally blowing me off. All of my other letters have been received and processed except this one guy. I emailed him last week to "check-in", but he never emailed me back. I'm not sure how often to nag at him. Like you guys, I'm complete except this one letter. But schools won't even start to look until ALL your letters are in. What a pain! 😡

i definitely feel your pain on this. all five of my LORs had been sent to my committee over 8 weeks ago and my committee still has not sent my packet out. they said last week that it would go out "early this week" but it has not. last time i checked in they said "we are doing your best to be your advocate." in other words "stop bugging us" so now i am reluctant to inquire again. they are not doing their best, i know. they are putting it off. i had all my secondaries done a long time ago and so it is incredibly frustrating to be at a standstill with this. it feels good to be able to complain about it on here though and talk with others in similar lousy boats.

I also feel the pain. I was told July 8th that my committee letter was being written. When I called yesterday to find out why none of the med schools had received my recommendation, I found out that not only was my recommendation never sent out (even though I requested it to be over a month ago), my letter was never even written. YESTERDAY. I guess all you can do is call and email. Maybe try calling another department and see if you can get to them that way... I dont know... good luck, maybe I'll see you in med school in 2 years...
