If I ask for an LOR will the prof give it to me so I can make copies? How does this go? Im also doing summer research and need 2 LORs from science profs UGHHHHH +pissed+

No, that won't work. You're not allowed to see your LOR. You ususally have to sign some sort of waiver that has to be included in the envelope with the letter. Check to see if your school has a LOR service. You or your professor can give them the letter, and they will make copies and send it to the schools you are applying to (for a fee).

yes you do have a to sign a waiver which says that you will not be able to read or get access to your LORs. However if the writers are cool then they might ask if you want a copy of it online. Only one of my 5 writers offered to show email me a copy of it after she turned it in. Its hard to approach a prof about it because they usually dont want any complications. so if you get it you get it if you dont oh well. not a lot of us know what they write for us anyway.
