I'm an IMG applying to Neurology this year, I need to know how do we include recommendation letters in the application. I heard that it's best to put the letter inside an envelop & let the writer sign across the seal as a proof that I didn't see the letter. how exactly am I suppose to send the letters? also I'm applying to ERAS for the medicine prelim year.. how would I send the LOR in ERAS?

Not sure how it works for IMGs but for USmedical grads - even ones who graduated some time ago, all have their med schools scan in their LORs for ERAS.

neurology is early match though, and what arteg described sounds right.

The people who scan your letters are actually your dean's office- for IMG's that's ECFMG- you send them your letters etc and they scan it, load it to ERAS etc.

There's very clear instructions for both the SF Match and ERAS on their websites on how to handle your LORs. They don't put them in the most accessible of places, but they're there.

Thanks for the informative reply & thanks so much Jaded Soul for the great links!
I have another question, is it a must to address the letters to "Dear Program Director"? I already have 2 letters addressed "to who it may concern" and another one addressed "Dear Sir or Madam", is this a problem?

I appreciate your help.

I also have another question, can I waive my right to see 2 letters & let the writers send them directly to the ERAS, while submitting the 3rd letter myself to the ERAS (since I already have it with me & it's a good letter).
