AADSAS 2008 has implemented a new Letter of Evaluation (LOE) process that provides the option for each individual to submit a Letter of Evaluation as either an online electronic document or as a paper letter that is mailed to AADSAS. Applicants may submit a maximum of four individual Letters of Evaluation or one Committee Letter/Report plus the option of one additional individual Letter of Evaluation.

I am new to this so please help me out... am I suppose to submit 1 LOR from a dentist, 1 from a science professor and 1 from a friend/mentor/employer??

Are those the requirements regarding LORs??? If yes I am doomed. I've been out of school for almost 3 years. I have been taking a class here and there but not to an extend where I can ask for an LOR. 🙁

All dental schools (that I am aware of) absolutely require LORs from science professors. There is no way around this requirement.

Email some of your old professors and ask them for a letter. It never hurts to ask, even if you've been out of school for a while. If you don't ask you'll never know.

Without the professor LORs, you will be rejected for an incomplete application.

My employer is a medical school professor... is that pushing it?

Thank you for your advise, i'll contact my professors.

I think a committee letter can replace the other letters. (thats only of course if your school has a committee)

My school has a pre-med advisor but not a committee. :scared:

I think the norm for many schools is two science LORs, a non-science, and a dentist. Not all schools have this exact requirement, and not all even require a dental LOR, so you will have to go to your school's websites and see what they want. If something doesn't work out, you can always ask the school if you can send an LOR directly to their office. Either way, you need to do this ASAP b/c evaluators can take a loooong time to write you one.

Dental schools are generally very strict on who your science LORs come from. Generally, dental schools will ONLY accept science professor/instructor LORs from professors/instructors who taught you directly!

Check with your school, because this is VERY important to know before you apply/send your LORs in!

I cant stress this enough!
