Ok, so I went ahead and had my various referees write letters and submit them to Interfolio. Now I'm about to submit my AACOMAS and deciding which schools to apply to. I just found out KCOM won't take letters from Interfolio so sadly I won't apply there (tracking down my referees to fill out special forms is just not possible for various reasons). It seems that many other schools also have their own forms. Does that mean that all these traditional LORs I have lined up won't satisfy all these schools!?!

Thanks

You might want to take up KCOM's rejection of Interfolio with Interfolio. I've heard of a similar situation with a particular school where the school was saying, 'Uh, uh buddy, no can do Interfolio, G.I.' and Interfolio was saying they'd sent 7 documents to them in the past.

Plus, Interfolio claims they've never had a document rejected from ANY medical school in the last 5 years. AZCOM, VCOM,DMU all take them, although AZCOM did say there may be problems with tracking LORs, so use them at your own risk.

I'd be interested to hear what happens.

fu-ck that...

i applied to kcom this yr and used interfolio and they were fine with it.

in fact, most of the schools i applied to had some annoying LOR requirement like using their eval-forms or having it be on prof letterhead.

i didn't do any of that $hit... just sent everyone my interfolio packet.

interviews r rollin in so i guess it's all good 😛

Yea. My experience has been that as long as you give them the secondary fee, they will take your letters instead of the recomendation forms.

I would go right on ahead and apply to KCOM using interfolio, I know others that did who have an interview at KCOM.

Thanks all for your input. 🙂 I'm going to go ahead and apply and use the letters I went to all this trouble to line up!

For the person who asked, Interfolio (or ReferenceNow - I think they're the same company) is an online portfolio service that will manage your letters of reference (and things like resumes etc. as well). You have your writers submit them and then you just tell Interfolio when and where to send them. Aside from the momentary scare documented in this thread, Interfolio has made the process of gathering recommendations much less painful!

Cheers,
