Are 2 letters from science professors, 1 from a dentist, and one from a research director sufficient? Or do some schools require 3 letters from science professors? 😕 Geez, what if you don't know THREE science professors on that level..hmm..

I had a Pre-Health Committee to prepare a composite.

Go volunteer at a lab or something and get to know some science professors if you are applying for the next cycle. I don't think you have to have two letters from professors that taught you.

Good luck.

Your letters are good to go. That's pretty much what I had: one from a Physiology, and one from OChem. Actually I had another from my Bio 2 class professor, but again, what you have is more than enough.

in my experience all the schools wanted either one letter from a health professions committee if your school has one or alternately three separate ones, two from science professors and one from a dentist. your schools may vary though. look on the schools' websites; they nearly always tell you exactly what they want.

Hey thanks everyone for your responses 👍 Can a science "faculty member" fulfill the requirement even if they are not teaching. My research director is a member of the faculty but is not a professor. Does this matter? Also, what would be the advantages or disadvantages for having a prehealth committee write you an LOR as opposed to 3 individual profs? What is the basis for a prehealth committee's letter? Do they write it based on your grades? Thank you

Some of the dental schools even need a health professional or dentist LOR
can I get a science instrutor LOR instead?
Because I am still searching for a clinic to shadow
and I don't think the dentist will write me one for only a couple month.....

And do they have a limit on LORs? Can I send in 6 LORs?Or just pick the 3 best one? 😛

I heard a couple of reps from different dental schools (one being UOP) that they accept a max. of 5 LOR's. I would send up to 5 and no more. I wouldn't risk them not taking a look at the one letter which could be the strongest of the bunch.
