lets say you were applying and submitted your letters of rec. , but then you didn't get in and you want to apply next year, can you still use the SAME letters of recs? even if they were for the previous year? i'm not sure how this works. any advice helps : )
 
I believe the schools that you have applied to the previous year will retain your application if you apply again this coming year. So they will have your LORs from previous year. What the schools would like from reapplicants are about 2-3 LORs from different professors/dentists to get a different perspective/updated information on you.

To be sure, contact respective schools about information on reapplicants.

I believe Arizona shreds all the old applications after several months into the school year.
