LOST DOG - Anyone in Champaign?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i'm so sorry to hear that... you must be worried sick! i know it's hard, but don't panic. call any pounds/rescues/animal control/shelters in the area and fill out a lost report, and call in every 3 days to check to see if a dog with that description's gotten dropped off. does your dog have a tag or microchip? is there anyway that you can have someone who's in the area put up some fliers?

i'm so sorry, wish i was in champaign to help. **hoping he's microchipped and that someone turns him in for you**

Thanks guys, I completely forgot to add that he *IS* microchipped (thank god), but unfortunately there have been dog thefts in the area lately!!! Stupid dog, stupid time to go missing!!!

He has a collar with ID tags on him right now, hopefully still on!

Called animal control, said they have had calls of a loose dog in the area, but my neighbors stupid dog gets out all the time so who knows. I'm stuck in the Keys, and my boyfriend is looking at home for him, I'm about ready to jog all the way home if I have to.

Glad to hear that he's chipped! Well that means that if ANYONE, even some idiot who tries to take your dog brings him to the vet, the vet will figure it out. Have your bf put up fliers, even if it's just a pic + contact info (and a reward goes a long way too). and i'm not sure exactly what the required holding period is for your state/county, but generally every 3 days is how often you want to call into any and all shelters. but yep! a lot of disasterous outcomes can be really eliminated by the fact that you have him chipped so i'm sure he'll be returned to you safe and sound! i'm praying for you and your dog!

Hey, I live in Urbana, have you found him yet??? I work at the Champaign County Humane Society...if he's chipped we would give you a call when he came in, but I'll keep an eye out for him anyway.

That must be awful to not be home to help look for him! I hope he's found soon. I won't be back in Urbana for another week, but once I am I'll be on the lookout for him.
