Hello sdners..
I just found out that I got rejected from UNE.
With my bad stats, I was very surprised by the fact that I got interviewed from 3 schools.
Presbyterian college, Albany Colchester, UNE.
I actually got interview invites within 3 days after they received my application.
I was very surprised.
After I interviewed, I got the bad news.
From Presbyterian, I heard absolutely nothing. I emailed the school and they said they will contact me as soon as they make the decision.
From Albany Colchester, I was ranked 4th on the waiting list.
From UNE, got rejection letter.
From MCPHS, I got waitlisted even without the interview.
Now I am waiting on TJU and PCOM.
So I guess my biggest hope is from Albany Colchester.
What do you guys think of possibility of me being pull off from the waiting list?
I am so terrified and literally don't know what to do if I don't get into any pharmacy school.
Need advice and thoughts!!

I have no idea about the chances for these particular schools. If it's early in Albany's cycle, there will probably still be a number of folks who decide to go elsewhere. Just based on being ranked #4, I think you have a decent chance.

First, take a deep breath. It's not the end of the world if you don't get in the first time. Are you the sort of person that needs contingency plans to feel more relaxed, or are you the sort of person who needs to distract?

If you're the sort of person who needs plans, here's some ideas:
- If you don't get in, make appointments with the colleges you were declined / waitlisted at and ask them what you can do to be a better applicant next time around. Express your continued interest.
- How do your ECs look? If they're slim, try to find a pharmacy or volunteer position to round out your application. In fact, why not do that either way?
- Is it your grades? Have you finished your bachelor degree? If not, make sure you kill your classes from this semester until you finish. Perhaps applying with a pending graduation will help your application. Are there any sub-C classes you can retake over summer? If you have a lot of science Cs, are there any upper division classes in those areas you can take between now and the next application cycle?
- Is it your PCAT score? If so, plan on taking the PCAT again in July. Start working now on any particular weaknesses so you know that subject like the back of your hand. (Make sure you revisit any subjects you study early during your general study time closer to the test.)
- Plan to apply early early next cycle and broaden your choices. Make sure you thank your LoR writers and ask them if they'd be willing to write you recommendations in the future, so you're ready to go.

If you're the distraction type:
- Make a plan, just so you don't get blindsided next time.

Either shouldnt have been a surprise to you. Interview invites are merely "do you have the minimum required stats" and if your GPA was bad... well you can expect to be waitlisted this entire semester.

You'll get into a pharmacy school eventually. You can apply to every school in the US and 99% chance of probably getting into one.

I think you'll be fine! If anything, you are in a better situation than I am in!

🙂

When do you guys think I'll get an answer by?
I mean if you are waitlisted,
do schools like pull off from the waitlist after they receive every application?
or like fill it up as soon as the spot is open?
I really hope I get an answer back in march since I have to make plans for next year if I don't get in.
So.
what do you guys think?!!
Thanks!!

people get called off the waitlist anytime from the end of the interview season (when they're done interviewing everyone) to the first day of school, so no one really knows. it's a long wait :/

If you are ranked #4 this early in the wait-list cycle, you'll be just fine. I know a guy who got accepted off the wait-list just a few days before orientation in July. Anything can happen. 🙂

I guess I have good reflexes? 😕

Yeah, I probably should have posted something cool like that instead.

I was suprised because you seem too nice to be associated with the ppl who play lol. I know not everyone is like that, but...

To the OP,
Don't give up, you should give updates to school on what you have been doing (volunteering, additional classes, work, research experience). Show them that you care!

Hello sdners..

From Albany Colchester, I was ranked 4th on the waiting list.

I'm inclined to guess that you will be pulled from this wait list soon enough. People often accept offers from multiple schools and then spend some time making a decision. (I'm holding up seats at two schools right now while I figure out my life). All you need is 4 people who were accepted here and elsewhere to choose the other school and you are in.

The schools tend to waitlist enough people to make sure they have enough people to choose from after a dust settles. Again, I think being number 4 on the list will get you a call. I know the wait and pressure sucks but try to stay positive.

I agree with most everyone here. If you are #4 then you have a decent chance that at the least 4 people who accepted will decide on going elsewhere. I think a d-bag saying like, "Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst," is appropriate in a time like this. I really think there is little to worry about. Just be patient and ready to go on short notice.

Thank you all!!
Thats relieving..!!
I guess ill just have to wait now..
Arghh waiting is so toughhhhhhhhh!!

look at is on a positive way: you save yourself a 200K + loan , and 4 yrs of wasting time in pharmacy school when getting out with a huge potential of no jobs...lol

Anyone knows like the last date of interview?
I heard from Ms. Donna Myers that ACP will start contact people that are in waitlist starting in April.
I don't know if anyone will read from last year, but anyone got accepted after they were put in waitlist?
This waiting is killing me..
